Midsummer Festival
June 24, 2006 (Saturday), 11 am to 10 pm
German-American Cultural Center, 7901 SE Division (Bus #4), Portland
Celebrate warmer and longer days, fertile fields, and the “mid-point” of summer! Come help celebrate a Scandinavian tradition that goes back many centuries! Food and craft vendors will be present and live entertainment. The Midsummer Festival is one of the largest pan-Scandinavian events that Portland offers and is open to the public. The Festival is sponsored by the Scandinavian Heritage Foundation and the League of Swedish Societies.
Schedule of Events:
1 pm – Raising of the Maypole
2 pm – Scandinavian of the Year
6 pm – Dancing (until closing)
Admission: $5 adults, $3 children (ages 6 to 12)
